Two prominent former politicians are throwing their weight behind Switzerland's burgeoning blockchain and digital asset industry.
Zug-based Crypto Valley Venture Capital (CV VC) appointed to its board Johann Schneider-Ammann, the former economic minister of Switzerland, as well as Anne-Catherine Berner (pictured below), a former Finnish government minister as well as currently a board member of SEB, it said in a statement on Monday.
«A board of directors needs expertise, experience, network and reputation,» the crypto lobby won said. Schneider-Ammann memorably coined the term «crypto nation Switzerland» in 2018, when he was still in government and actively promoted the fledgling industry, as finews.com wrote. He stepped down from government 18 months ago.
During her time in the Finnish government, Berner (pictured below) was a vocal advocate for technology start-ups involving emerging. Berner, who is Swiss as well as Finnish, currently runs Vallila Interior, an interior decorations firm founded by her family in 1935.
