A former private banker at UBS, Clariden Leu, and Indosuez, Meier joined 21Shares (formerly Amun) earlier this year as its head of business development and sales in Switzerland this year. She is open about having no experience in crypto before joining the digital asset manager from Crédit Agricole, where she was head of business development for its Next Bank in Switzerland. Meier is passionate about women as entrepreneurs, especially in the blockchain.

7. Cecilia Mueller-Chen, Comply Now

A software engineer by training, Mueller-Chen was instrumental in writing the Crypto Valley Association’s code of conduct in 2017 and founded her own firm, Comply Now, one year later. The Swiss-American compliance veteran began her career in finance at the Bank for International Settlements and worked for UBS’ investment bank and its wealth management arm, as well as China Construction Bank in Switzerland.

8. Daniela Rosa, Banca Zarratini

The veteran Swiss banker began her career at UBS in Lugano and has been with Banca Zarattini for nearly 19 years. Her interest in digital assets began in 2017 when clients active in crypto began asking for accounts. Zarattini’s management was receptive, and the Lugano-based lender became one of the first Swiss banks to open its doors to crypto founders.

9. Isabella Brom, Crowdlitoken/Kore

The Swiss native joined Crowdlitoken’s management this year but had advised the crypto firm since last year. Brom is a co-founder of Kore, a technology firm for digital asset management and compliance. After studies in geographic information systems, she joined EY as a blockchain technology adviser. Her side hustle is lecturing on blockchain technology.

10. Lidia Bolla

A Ph.D. graduate of St. Gallen’s prestigious HSG University, Bolla’s path to blockchain started in traditional finance – as an M&A intern in J.P. Morgan’s financial sponsors group, then at Swiss Re, in asset management. Bolla is strategy chief at Crowdlitoken as well as co-founder of Vision&, a blockchain asset manager.

11. Nina Portier Reinhart, Reinhart Capital/SICTIC

The technology investor spent the bulk of her career in wealth management, including at UBS and now at her own VC firm Reinhart Capital. She a long-standing adviser to start-ups in Switzerland and heavily involved in Swiss ICT Investor Club (SICTIC), a network of business angels that early-stage Swiss «deep tech» startups with investors. Reinhart recently added a prestigious government advisory mandate at Innosuisse to her remit.

12. Emmanuelle Ganne, WTO

The WTO’s point person for blockchain made a splash in the crypto valley last year by outlining how trade can benefit from distributed ledger technology. Educated at Georgetown and Sorbonne, she began her career in anti-corruption at the OECD (Organization for Cooperation and Development). The Frenchwoman was a member of ex-WTO head Pascal Lamy’s cabinet in a previous stint with the trade body. She returned to the WTO three years ago as a senior economic analyst, after two years of consulting.
