Zurich Insurance Group will accelerate the development of digital services and has created a new business unit that will take the lead in making the company more digital. It is part of a wider reorganization of the company’s executive.

Switzerland’s largest insurer is committed to transforming its global business to adjust its services to the needs of its clients, who are demanding more and more digital solutions.

The group has now launched a new unit, which will deliver digital services to a global audience, according to a statement released on Wednesday. Jack Howell, the current CEO Asia Pacific will take charge of the new unit – global business platforms – on January 1, 2021. His place in Asia will be taken by Tulsi Naidu, who currently serves as CEO of Zurich in the U.K.

Group Chief Information and Digital Officer

In a further appointment, Ericson Chan will take charge of planning, development and operations of tech functions and online eco-systems. Chan, who starts on October 1, is the new group chief information and digital officer.

Chan joins from Ping An Group, where he currently serves as CEO of Ping An Technology. Ping An is a Chinese insurance and financial-services firm.

Group Chief Transformation Officer

Kathleen Savio, CEO North America, on January 1, 2021, will assume the position as group chief transformation officer. She will be responsible for the optimization of the organization and governance and advance the cultural adaption of the company.

Kristof Terryn will take her place as CEO North America. He joined the company in 2004 and was appointed group chief operating officer in 2016.

CEO Latin America

Zurich furthermore appointed Laurence Maurice as CEO Latin America. She has seven years of experience as chief financial officer of a leading European insurer in Brazil and South America and most recently was leading the company’s business in Spain and Southern Europe.

Maurice replaces Claudia Dill who has decided to leave the company with immediate effect.
