Swiss Startup Group, a venture capital platform, has received an injection of capital and added two experienced investors to its board of directors.

Swiss Startup Group, the venture capital vehicle of ex-private banker Mike Baur has completed a round of financing. The money will be spent on an expansion of the group’s investment portfolio, the group said in a statement on Monday. Both existing and new investors injected money, it added.

Swiss Startup Group welcomed Eric Sarasin, previously head of private banking at Bank Sarasin, and Jean Claude Bregy, CEO of construction company Poenina, to the fold. Both have taken seats on the board of directors.

The company is in its sixth year of existence and has used the pandemic crisis to adjust the business model. It will focus on its services as a finance firm and venture capital platform. Swiss Startup Group is mainly investing in early-phase startups that are open for investments through funds.
