Just in time for Christmas shopping, the online retailer made peace with a payments provider it had revoked in a dispute over fees.

Galaxus, which is among Switzerland's largest e-commerce shops and owns Digitec, is allowing payments through Twint again, CEO Florian Teuteberg said in a statement on Friday. The online retailer broke Swiss bank-sponsored payments app from its payment options nearly nine months ago in a dispute over fees.

Neither Twint nor Galaxus disclosed how they had settled the spat, but pressure from users will have figured prominently: Twint is a dominant payment form in domestic payments, and added clients during the pandemic.

The payments firm can ill afford shutting out one of the largest online marketplaces in Switzerland, and in turn Galaxus relies heavily on a domestic payments solution for clients not yet comfortable with larger international providers like Paypal.
