Consumer credit bank Cembra has found a successor for outgoing CEO Robert Oudmayer. Cembra shares a common past with the German manager.

Holger Laubenthal will take charge of Cembra Money Bank in March, according to a statement released on Friday. Laubenthal replaces Robert Oudmayer, who announced his resignation from his position as chief executive last October.

Laubenthal and Cembra have a common past. The German national spent a good part of his career at General Electric (GE) in consumer credit. From 2003 to 2006, he had worked for the business in Switzerland. Cembra emerged from GE group in 2013 and went public on the Swiss stock exchange.

International Career

After his Swiss stint, 49-year-old Laubenthal continued his GE career in Germany, Russia, the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates. From 2016 to 2019, he was CEO of GE Inspection Technologies in both Germany and the U.S.

Most recently, he led the consumer and manufacturing business unit of Kuwait-based Alghanim Industries Group as president.
