Credit Suisse reorganizes the corporate client business in Switzerland, splitting the responsibility for the unit in two.

Credit Suisse (CS) is undertaking a reorganization of the corporate client business in Switzerland with the retirement of Albert Angehrn, the long-time head of the «Large Swiss Corporates» division. As a result, large corporate clients will be split into a multinationals division and a large Swiss corporates division as of May 1, 2021, Switzerland's second-largest bank said in a statement Wednesday.

Cooperation With IB

Andreas Glaus will head the newly created multinationals unit, while Christophe Mueller will take over the new unit with large Swiss corporates, it added. The two units will operate under the names «Swiss Multinational Groups» and «Swiss Large Corporates». The multinationals unit will serve the largest companies with wide-ranging advisory and capital markets needs in close cooperation with the bank's investment division.

Glaus has more than 20 years of banking experience and has been advising companies on their capital market and M&A needs as head of coverage management in the investment bank of Credit Suisse Switzerland since 2015. Previously, Glaus worked in investment banking at Barclays and the former Credit Suisse First Boston, among others. In his new role, he will report to Andreas Gerber, head of corporate clients Switzerland, and also to Jens Haas, head of investment banking Switzerland.

CS Veteran Retires

Mueller has been with CS for more than 30 years and has held various leadership roles in the corporate banking business since 1993. He currently leads a team of experienced key account managers in large Swiss corporates and is also deputy head of the division.

Angehrn, the current head of the large corporate clients business, will end his career at Credit Suisse and retire after almost 40 years with the bank.
