Switzerland's business lobby is adding several prominent members of the financial services industry to its board.

Economiesuisse is appointing 15 new board members including three bankers and the CEO of a Swiss insurer, it said in a statement (in German) on Friday. The most prominent is Marcel Rohner, a Swiss banker who ran UBS during its 2008 government bailout and is due to take over at the Swiss bankers trade group later this month.

The wider business lobby group is also adding Reto Francioni, Deutsche Boerse's chairman as well as a director at UBS; Philomena Colatrella, who runs domestic insurer CSS; and Adrian Noesberger, who oversees Schroders Bank in Switzerland, it said.

Rohner and Philippe Hebeisen, chairman of Swiss insurer Vaudoise, will join a group of vice-chairs of Economiesuisse, which advocates for business-friendly conditions. The 57-year-old Rohner is also deputy chair of Geneva's Union Bancaire Privée, controlled by the wealthy de Picciotto family.
