The Swiss National Bank is nominating a reputable professor for its bank council. The candidate is well known in finance and academia.

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) is proposing Rajna Gibson Brandon to join its bank council as from next May for the remaining term of office ending 2024, according to a statement.

If elected at SNB's annual general meeting in April, Brandon, who is a professor of finance at the University of Geneva, will replace Monika Bütler. Bütler will step down after reaching the statutory limit on the maximum term of office. 

According to Brandon's online CV, her research interests cover experimental finance, asset pricing and corporate governance. Brandon was a member of Swiss Re’s and Banque Privée Edmond De Rothschild ‘s board of directors until 2018 and 2015 respectively.
