The Swiss National Bank's deputy chair has an operation scheduled this week. This comes shortly after the national bank's chair underwent medical surgery.

The Swiss National Bank's (SNB) vice-chair Fritz Zurbruegg will undergo a scheduled cardiac medical procedure at the end of this week, according to a statement on the SNB's website. He will resume his official duties after a period of convalescence lasting a few weeks, it adds.

Swiss National Bank Chairman Thomas Jordan has recently returned to work after undergoing a surgical procedure in August. Currently Jordan is able to "cover his duties fully," an SNB spokesperson told finews.

Governor Andréa Maechler, also sits on the the three-person governing board. Both Jordan and Zurbruegg have deputies within the central bank's enlarged governing board of six people. These are Martin Schlegel and Dewet Moser respectively.
