The Swiss bank is hiring HSBC's top private banker in Germany.

Zurich-based Credit Suisse is appointing Sven Stephan as a managing director for its wealth management in Germany, according to LinkedIn. Stephan was most recently HSBC's head of private banking in Germany.

It isn't clear who Stephan, whose hire was first reported by «Private Banking Magazin» (in German), replaces. At Credit Suisse, he reports to Mischa Tschopp, who is responsible for private banking in  Germany and Austria. A spokeswoman for the Swiss bank said Stephan is an addition to its existing team.
