A Swiss independent wealth manager is tapping a prominent fintech specialist to help oversee its business in Germany.

Reuss Private is tapping Spiros Margaris for the board of its holding, which unifies its German activities, it said in a statement (in German) on Thursday. Margaris is a fintech influencer who is based in Switzerland and also advises Wefox, Gentwo, and Coreledger.

The Swiss-based group is also expanding the role of Raoul Weil to include a board seat at the holding level. Weil was UBS' top private banker until 2007 and beat U.S. tax charges in 2014. he had been Reuss' managing partner in Switzerland until his arrest in 2013.

The other board members of the holding are founderRoman Neff, who also oversees risk, and Frank Mennuni, operational head of the Swiss arm. Reuss recently wrapped its German activities, which include a private bank for securities trading, fund and insurance platform Fondsnet, and investment firm BN & Partners Capital.
