The Swiss bank is launching a business solutions center in Doha. The move could create 200 jobs and advance Qatar's financial digitalization.
UBS will create an additional shared services center in Doha, Qatar, the investment promotion agency of Qatar said in a recent announcement. The center is in addition to ones based in multiple locations in India, Poland, the U.S. and China.
The hubs provide centralized shared services to the bank in a variety of functions, among them finance, technology, human resources, operations, risk control, legal and internal audit.
The investment promotion agency of Qatar said it will support the creation of the hub in its statement: «The launch of a business solutions hub contributes to advancing the financial digitization in Qatar, while supporting the local talent development, as up to 200 digital experts will be employed over the next few years,» it said.
