New Reward Director of Credit Suisse joins from a company which didn't pay bonuses in 2020.

Stuart Woodward joins Credit Suisse (CS) as the new head of EMEA executive and regulatory compensation, according to a report in «efinancialcarreers.com

He served in a senior compensation role at Lloyds Bank Group for almost ten years, where it is presumed he was part of the decision to omit bonuses for 2020 at the British bank.

Walking a Tightrope

Credit Suisse has already announced bonuses for 2021 which saw a 32 percent cut to the bonus pool, with senior employees to get 497 million Swiss francs in total.

Last week, Credit Suisse CEO Thomas Gottstein stressed the bank has to pay what the market demands for senior talent and pay competitively in light of the tight market.
