To capitalize on a growing market, Swiss private bank Julius Baer announces two new senior relationship managers for the Middle East and Africa.

As part of its plan to benefit from the next wave of growth in the Middle East and Africa, Julius Baer is adding two seasoned veterans to its ranks in Geneva effective August 1, the firm announced on Tuesday.

Geneva-Based Veterans

JP Morgan veteran Jonathan A. Conner is a 25-year financial services veteran, with a primary focus on the private banking industry. During his career at the US firm, he provided wealth management services to ultra-high Net Worth individuals (UHNW) and families from the Middle East from New York and Geneva. He held various positions during his 14 years with the company, including senior relationship manager, team head, and Middle East marketing manager. Before that, he was the chief of staff to the CEO of Citigroup's private bank.

Thomas E.M. Kloss joins Julius Baer from HSBC Private Bank in Geneva where he was responsible for client relationships in the Middle East. He was with HSBC for over a decade and also worked in the firm's local office in Doha.

Middle East Expansion Plans

His experience in Qatar fits in with Julius Baer's plan, announced in June, of expanding its regional presence in the Middle East and opening an advisory office in Qatar, as finews.com reported.

Both new hires will report to Yvan Wicht, group head of the Middle East & Africa Geneva, who said «I am very pleased to welcome two seasoned professionals to the Julius Baer family. We already have well established teams in Geneva, and I am confident that the proven track records, experience, and networks of Jonathan and Thomas will add great value to our business.»
