After a long career in the financial industry, the majority at Swiss Re, CIO Guido Fuerer announces his retirement.
Guido Fuerer, chief investment officer and country president of Swiss re, announced his retirement Monday, effective March 31, 2023. His financial services career spanned 35 years, 25 of which were at Swiss Re, and serving as CIO for the past decade, the insurer said in a statement Monday.
Fuerer said he will devote himself to voluntary activities on various boards or trustees and that he would also like to spend more time with his family.
Smooth Transition
In thanking Fuerer for his services, Swiss Re Chairman Sergio Ermotti said that «On behalf of the Board of Directors of Swiss Re, I would like to thank Guido Fuerer for his very great contribution to the success of the Group over the past 25 years. I wish him all the best in his future tasks. Until the actual transition, (he) will continue to serve the company with full commitment and dedication. His passion for the performance of his team and the company will help us to ensure a smooth transition.»
