At ZKB, the long-serving head of its Risk Management division is stepping down. The successor has not yet been appointed.

Roger Mueller (pictured below) is stepping down as Head of Risk at Zuercher Kantonalbank at the end of March. The 60-year-old leaves the cantonal bank after a 45-year career, according to a statement Thursday evening.

Mueller took over as head of the Risk business unit in 2014. Before that, he worked as head of commercial lending and corporate banking and the credit office, using his experience to develop the risk unit both strategically and operationally.

Mueller's stepping down is part of the regular long-term succession planning for members of the general management, which falls under the auspices of the bank council. Information about the successor will be provided in due course.

Before the new ZKB CEO Urs Baumann took office last fall, two-thirds of the general management were in their late 50s or older. The normal retirement age at the bank is 64, and the general age limit is 70.
