The president of the Alliance of Swiss Wealth Managers has a new job. Nicole Curti becomes a partner in a Geneva-based financial boutique, which is now managed by a trio of women.

Nicole Curti is a new partner at Capital Y, an independent asset manager based in Geneva, according to a statement on Monday.

She joins Annie Raccah and Yasmine Bouzourene in the leadership team, forming a trio of women in the top ranks, something which still stands out in a profession where men make up about 70 percent of the leadership. They join Pierre Martin who serves as chief investment officer (CIO) of the financial boutique.

With her appointment at Capital Y, Curti has found another operational role in the industry she represents. Last March, the wealth management expert was elected president of the Alliance of Swiss Wealth Managers (ASWM), an association that counts the heavyweights of the industry among its ranks.

Money from Athletes

Among those larger players is Capital Y. According to company information it manages about 1 billion francs of the assets of entrepreneurs, athletes, and rich industrialist families. The financial boutique touts special expertise in private market investments, real estate, and impact investing.

The young diversified team wants to cater in particular to the needs of today's generation of heirs, hence the «Y» in the company name, in reference to Generation Y.

Swiss Branch Established

Curti caused quite a stir in September when she abruptly left the Geneva branch of the internationally active asset manager Stanhope Capital of her own volition. The bilingual Swiss, who had joined the firm in 2008 from private bank Lombard Odier, built the Geneva office into the firm's most important location after London.

Now she is working with co-partners Raccah and Bouzourene on a new approach to wealth management. Raccah formerly worked for HSBC Private Bank in Switzerland and co-founded asset manager KBR Advisors, Capital Y's predecessor firm.

Bouzourene, like Curti, was part of the founding team of Stanhope Capital in Geneva.
