The well-known Swiss banker and proven Asia expert Boris Collardi, is taking on an advisory role at EFG ideally suited to him.

EFG International is appointing Boris Collardi, who already sits on EFG International's board of directors, as chair of the Asia Pacific advisory board as of March 2023, it said Wednesday. In this role, he will develop the strategy for this important region. 

Collardi succeeds Amy Yip, who will remain a member of both the Asia Pacific advisory board and EFG International's board of directors.

New CEO in Hong Kong

Furthermore, David Louie will join the bank in April, becoming the new CEO of the Hong Kong office. In doing so, he will succeed Kees Stoute, who is moving into the role of private banking COO Asia Pacific region and will continue to be based in Hong Kong.

Louie is a highly experienced wealth manager with nearly 40 years of experience in the industry, according to the firm. Before joining EFG, he served as market group head of China at Credit Suisse for 11 years. He was also a member of the APAC management committee and an executive officer of Credit Suisse, Hong Kong.

Previously, he advised clients at Bank J. Safra Sarasin and also held senior positions at Clariden Leu Asset Management (Hong Kong) and Deutsche Bank Hong Kong. Louie will also become a member of the Asia business committee, chaired by Albert Chiu, EFG International's Asia Pacific executive chairman.
