The top job at Geneva-based Edmond de Rothschild could soon be vacant after a dispute between the incumbent CEO and the bank's chair.

The CEO of Edmond de Rothschild François Pauly, is about to leave the private bank, as the Luxembourg business portal «Paperjam» (in French) reported Friday.

Pauly, who is originally from Luxembourg, stepped into the role less than two years ago. The bank declined to comment on the matter.

Sudden Departure

Strategic disagreements between Pauly and the bank’s chair Ariane de Rothschild, are behind the sudden departure, according to the report, de Rothschild became chair after her husband Benjamin de Rothschild, owner of the bank, died at the start of 2021.

According to the report, Pauly will leave in mid-March with de Rothschild taking over the CEO role on an interim basis. The Edmond de Rothschild Group has operations in 16 countries and cut 20 jobs in Luxembourg last month.
