Chairman Axel Lehmann and Credit Suisse's top management are in close contact with UBS management on the future of Credit Suisse employees.

«I am aware of how difficult the situation is for many employees. We are committed to transparently managing this process and keeping this time of uncertainty as short as possible,» Credit Suisse chairman Axel Lehmann told shareholders at its last annual general meeting on Tuesday at Zurich's Hallenstadion.

Lehmann said that together with UBS executives, Chairman Colm Kelleher, and designated Group CEO Sergio Ermotti, he will work until the end to ensure that the best possible solutions are found for employees.

Koerner Stands up for Employees

Lehmann said that Credit Suisse has already been in contact with them and has had close dialogue. Still, he said the future is in the hands of the UBS executives.

For his part, Ulrich Koerner said, «As CEO, together with my colleagues on the Executive Board, and with the support of all our Credit Suisse employees, I will do everything in my power to ensure that the merger is completed to fully realize the great potential of the merged banks.»
