Geneva's banking district is losing its appeal for the banking crowd.

BNP Paribas Switzerland is moving out of Geneva’s banking district next summer, the French-speaking Swiss «L'immobilier.ch,» announced earlier this month. The relocation affects around 600 employees.

The Swiss subsidiary of the French bank will relocate to the «Alto Pont-Rouge» building in the heart of the new Praille-Acacias-Vernets (PAV) district, the announcement said.

In Good Company

The building the bank currently occupies was bought in in 2021 by J. Safra Sarasin for 270 million francs. The 15,000 square meter building will be modernized to include coworking spaces, offices and gastronomy.

In its new location, BNP Paribas will find itself in the company of KPMG, EY, Swisscom and Crédit Agricole Next Bank. Soon Pictet will also be joining the crowd, entering into its newly built office tower in 2025.
