A team comprised of UBS and Credit Suisse specialists is being formed to provide data analysis and advice for investment banking clients. It will tap into a vast pool of data to glean insights.

According to a memo obtained by «Financial News» (behind paywall), UBS created a team called Strategic Insights and Advisory, which also includes staff from Credit Suisse.

The new unit brings together UBS' Strategic Insights Group teams with a similar force at Credit Suisse called Corporate Insights. It said the unit will use complex data sets and AI analytics to help investment bankers provide transaction insights to their clients.

James Arnold, currently in charge of UBS' Strategic Insights Group in London, will co-head the new unit with Rick Faery, who leads Credit Suisse's Corporate Insights unit from his base in New York. They report to David Kostel and Christian Lesueur, global co-head of UBS's investment bank coverage.

Treasure Trove of Data

The team will have access to data from $5.5 trillion worth of actively managed equity deals, including ESG capital mapping. According to the memo, they will use the datasets with Artificial Intelligence to provide investment bankers with deal insights.
