The wealthy clientele makes Gstaad in the Bernese Oberland an important location for Credit Suisse. After appointing a veteran bank manager, the branch now presents its new team at the start of the winter season – with excellent timing.

In summer, Credit Suisse was hemorrhaging staff in the ritzy ski resort of Gstaad. Zurich-based competitor EFG International was able to poach an entire team under Manuel Blanco. But now, new branch head Hans Baumgartner presents his new team.

Credit Suisse is represented in Gstaad by four experienced client advisers and one trainee adviser. They are supported by a further four assistants, as Baumgartner listed in an interview for local newspaper «Anzeiger von Saanen» (behind paywall).

Classic Swiss Craft

The article goes on to say that they are focusing on continuity and comprehensive client support. «Gstaad is an important location,» emphasizes the branch head. Credit Suisse fulfills all client needs, regardless of whether they are in retail or private banking. «We don’t merely help clients to open accounts at the desk and perform cash transactions; we also offer them extensive financial advice, for purchasing real estate, for example.»

Here, the focus is on high-quality and sensitive investment advice, and wealth management forms the cornerstone of what the bank has to offer Gstaad, the location manager continues. We do this with the utmost quality, care and our «classic Swiss craft».

The Takeover is an Opportunity

Baumgartner also sees a great opportunity in the takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS. «With UBS and Credit Suisse, we are combining over 300 years of experience in the Swiss banking tradition – a unique partnership for our clients.»
