Significant Sales

The enthusiasm was so great that visitors lined up to Zurich's Grossmünster to catch a glimpse of Löwentraut's latest creations. Among the 330 guests were many international art enthusiasts and collectors who had undertaken long journeys to be present at the opening.

Such an event not only underscores the pulling power of Löwentraut's work but also the business finesse of the gallery, which could already report significant sales before and during the opening, according to Daniel Wahrenberger, one of WOS Gallery's curators.

Artworks are not Stocks

Despite the considerable price range of Löwentraut's works, ranging from 8,000 to 100,000 francs, potential buyers were particularly concerned about whether his art could be seen as a meaningful investment. The consideration of art as an investment was clearly in focus.

However, Wahrenberger emphasized that artworks are not directly comparable to stocks. «We invest in Löwentraut's works ourselves,» he stressed, highlighting confidence in the long-term value of this art.

At 25, Already a Solid Figure

The buyer base for Löwentraut's works is diverse, ranging from 20 to 90 years old – from young art enthusiasts to established major collectors. Löwentraut, who had his first exhibition at the age of 15, has established himself as a solid figure in the art market over the past seven years.

At 25, he is considered one of the established artists who can stand alongside the great masters of the art world. While his works may fluctuate in value by 20 to 30 percent when considering the secondary market (in German only), they are already seen as relatively secure investments. «Leon Löwentraut is no longer just a hype but a seasoned artist, successful in the market for seven years,» said Wahrenberger.

Artistic Style as a Unique Selling Point

Löwentraut's style is unmistakable. Although he constantly experiments, his works have a high level of recognizability. His charcoal drawings, strongly reminiscent of Pablo Picasso (in German only), one of his influences, are particularly impressive.

But also, the round canvases (called «Tondos») or the latest works with cubist-geometric backgrounds stand out from the crowd.

Stage Presence is Essential

His ability to stage himself and his art in a media-friendly manner has not only earned him a loyal fan base but also a strong media presence. Löwentraut has over 700,000 followers on Instagram alone.

Critics may note that Löwentraut's showmanship is nothing new – after all, artists like Picasso, Salvador Dalí, and others have also heavily staged themselves.

Contemporary and Up-to-Date

In a world longing for authenticity, experience, and personal stories, Löwentraut's ability to stage both art and persona proves to be contemporary and relevant.
