HBK Investments Advisory brings in a new partner to the management team from one of Europe’s largest banks.

According to a media release issued on Thursday, Geneva-based asset manager HBK Investments Advisory has appointed Sobhi Tabbara as partner with effect as of March 1.

Tabbara will become a member of the Executive Board and the Board of Directors once approval is obtained. It is reported that he will be responsible for managing the company’s expansion plans.

Over Two Decades at HSBC

Tabbara has worked in the financial sector for many years. He began his career at the former Republic National Bank of New York, where he was responsible for the Middle East and Africa region as senior relationship manager. After the bank was sold to HSBC, Tabbara continued to work for the British bank, where he was most recently head of global private banking Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

HBK Investments Advisory was co-founded by Hani Kalouti almost 30 years ago. The asset manager now operates with a license from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).
