Leon Löwentraut has reached another milestone in his career: the opening of his first solo exhibition in Paris. The eagerly awaited vernissage “Rêves” took place last week at the Galerie By Lara Sedbon.

Since his last solo exhibition at Galerie WOS in Zurich just seven weeks ago, Leon Löwentraut has once again significantly expanded his international footprint. He has long dreamed of exhibiting in Paris, the city that inspired artistic legends such as Picasso and Monet and gave rise to entire art movements such as Impressionism and Expressionism.

Exclusive representation

Last Thursday, this dream came true at Galerie By Lara Sedbon, located in the Marais artists' quartier and organized by London-based curator Denise Wendel-Poray. Gallery owner Lara Sedbon discovered Löwentraut on Instagram (800,000 followers) and offered him a platform that could significantly shape his artistic career.

Löwentraut's artistic vision

The exhibition, entitled “Rêves” (Dreams), not only reflects Löwentraut's personal goals and dreams, but also the nocturnal visions that he incorporates into his works. “Even as a young boy, I dreamed of becoming a well-known artist. My childhood dream has come true with my presence in Paris,” Leon Löwentraut told finews.art. The theme of dreams is explored in many facets in his exhibition.

Never give up on dreams

The artist typically gets up in the middle of the night to immediately capture the images and ideas that haunt him in his sleep, in sketches or paintings. This intimate connection between dream and canvas lends his works an extraordinary intensity and emotionality.
At the same time, the exhibition is an appeal to visitors to never give up on their dreams and to pursue them.

New calm in Löwentraut's art

In Paris, Löwentraut unveils a new side to his artistic expression: among the 14 exhibited works, 10 large-format unique pieces and 4 charcoal drawings, there’s a departure from activism and wildness, replaced by geometric calm. The flowing color on the canvas and the subtly blurred figures reflect the ambiguity and ephemeral nature of dreams.

Collectors as far away as Mexico

His charcoal drawings, known for their impressive presence, also play a prominent role in this collection. The works, whose prices in the exhibition range from 10,000 euros to 50,000 euros, were particularly popular in the city on the Seine - art collectors from France, Asia and even Mexico attended the vernissage.

Fruitful collaboration in the City of Lights

The relationship between Löwentraut and gallery owner Sebdon, who showed a deep understanding of his work from the outset, is based on mutual respect and a shared vision. This harmonious collaboration has contributed significantly to the success of the exhibition. Sebdon represents Löwentraut exclusively throughout France, supporting his growing international recognition.

Electrifying atmosphere

The vernissage was a glittering start, attracting around a hundred selected guests, including well-known figures from the art world and beyond. The gallery buzzed with electrifying energy, mirroring the vibrant pulse of the city, which has been attracting and inspiring artists from all over the world for centuries.

For the 26-year-old Löwentraut, this exhibition marked more than a commercial success, but also the fullfilment of a lifelong ambition—a poignant moment in his young but already highly impressive career.
