Natixis Investment Managers Appoints New Head of Switzerland
Natixis Investment Managers has appointed Sophie Courmont as Head of Switzerland, effective immediately. In her new role, she will assume overall responsibility for the firm's operations in Geneva and Zurich and is tasked with further strengthening the French asset manager's position in the Swiss market, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
She succeeds Carolin Hefele, as the company confirmed to finews upon request.
«Carolin Hefele has left the company to pursue new professional opportunities,» Natixis said in a statement.
The sales specialist had joined Natixis only in April 2025, as previously reported by finews. She was responsible for the firm’s activities across German-speaking Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
Courmont will continue to report to Gad Amar, Head of Western Europe Distribution. She will oversee the firm's sales and market strategy for institutional and wholesale clients and is expected to further strengthen collaboration between the teams in Geneva and Zurich. She will also be responsible for increasing Natixis IM's visibility in the Swiss market.
More Than 30 Years of Experience
Courmont brings more than 30 years of experience in the financial industry. Since 2020, she has served as Managing Director for French-speaking Switzerland and Israel at Natixis IM. She joined the company in 2016 as Head of Institutional Business for French-speaking Switzerland.
Prior to that, she spent 16 years at J.P. Morgan Asset Management (Switzerland), where she was responsible for fund distribution in French-speaking Switzerland and also served as Vice President, Investor Relations.
«This appointment marks a new milestone in our strategy to strengthen our presence in Switzerland through a unified approach,» said Gad Amar. He added that Courmont combines a deep understanding of the Swiss market and client needs with the leadership experience required to further develop Natixis IM's position in the country.
Courmont said she intends to further increase Natixis IM's visibility and provide clients with high-quality, tailored and innovative service. Together with the teams in Geneva and Zurich, she aims to continue driving the firm's growth in Switzerland.
Switzerland Remains a Growth Market
With the appointment, Natixis IM underlines the importance of the Swiss market within its European growth strategy. The firm relies on its multi-affiliate model, which brings together more than 15 specialised asset management companies offering investment solutions across a broad range of asset classes and investment styles.
