Leonteq has named Faisal Sharwani as its new Head of Sales Europe, according to an internal memo seen by finews. He will join the Swiss investment solutions provider on September 1 and report to Lorenzo Leccesi, Head of Investment Solutions. Sharwani will be based in London.

Sharwani brings more than two decades of experience in cross-asset derivatives and structured investment solutions. During his career, he has held senior leadership positions at several global investment banks, including Bank of America, Citi, Deutsche Bank and J.P. Morgan.

Most recently, he served as Head of UK Institutional Equity Derivatives Sales at Bank of America, leading the firm’s UK franchise. Previously, he headed EMEA Commodity Solutions at Citi and held senior structured solutions roles at both Bank of America and Deutsche Bank. Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade at J.P. Morgan in various senior derivatives sales and management positions.

Expanding the client franchise

According to the internal memo, Sharwani’s appointment reflects Leonteq’s continued investment in its client franchise and European sales organisation. The firm expects his leadership experience and expertise in structured products and cross-asset investment solutions to support the further expansion of its Investment Solutions platform across Europe.

The appointment comes shortly after Leonteq returned to profitability in the first half of 2026, underlining the firm’s continued focus on strengthening its client-facing business.
