Allianz GI is extending its ETF push to the SIX Swiss Exchange

Allianz Global Investors has become the 37th ETF issuer on the SIX Swiss Exchange, the exchange operator announced on Friday morning.

Under the «Allianz Smart Active» brand, the asset manager is launching four exchange-traded funds covering three active equity strategies focused on global, European and US stocks. One strategy is available in two trading currencies, with Société Générale acting as market maker.

For Allianz Global Investors, the move marks the next step in a broad ETF expansion. The firm entered the European active ETF market only this spring, followed by a listing on Deutsche Börse in July. The Swiss exchange has now been added to the list.

«Important Step», Record Momentum

For Alexandra Auer, Head of Distribution EMEA at Allianz Global Investors, the listing represents «an important step in making our investment capabilities accessible to clients.» The firm aims to offer Swiss investors innovative active strategies in a familiar exchange-traded format.

At SIX, Danielle Reischuk, Senior ETFs & ETPs Sales Manager, pointed to the segment's continued development. Switzerland's ETF business continues to grow strongly, carrying the record momentum of the previous year into 2026.

Active Managers Move onto the Exchange

The listing is part of a broader trend, with a growing number of active asset managers recently opting for the Swiss exchange. Alliance Bernstein joined SIX as an ETF issuer only in June.

While actively managed ETFs still account for a small share of the market by volume, their trading turnover is growing significantly faster than that of passive products.
