Personnel Changes: Where Wealth Managers Are Heading Most Right Now

Align Private Wealth leads the list of Swiss asset managers with the most inflows of staff. The company recorded a total of seven new hires in the first nine months of this year, according to an exclusive analysis by wealthmanager.info for finews.

Just under a quarter of all personnel changes so far this year were accounted for by the Zurich-based asset manager, founded in January and part of the Aquila Group. Align has been registered in the commercial register since January 7, 2026.

Including Gehrig & Partners, which is also part of the Aquila Group, eight of the 30 recorded changes went to Aquila companies.

The analysis covers personnel movements between Finma-licensed institutions. It is based on public commercial register data. It includes 30 people who left one institution and joined another between January 1 and September 30, 2026. It takes into account members of executive management and the board of directors, as well as authorized signatories.

Just Over Half of the Changes Went to Four Institutions

Most executives moved from SSI Wealth Management to Align Private Wealth: four of them joined the Zurich-based asset manager in the second quarter, while the other two arrivals were spread across the first and third quarters.

The seventh addition is an executive employee from Tareno; the move took place in the third quarter.

Behind Align Private Wealth come Eqitron with four additions (all in Q3), Orion Capital (3) and Gamma Financials (2). A total of five people moved to the latter two firms from Clarus Capital Group, which is in liquidation (see chart). All four additions at Eqitron came from Crossinvest Zurich. Like Align, Orion Capital has only been registered in the commercial register since January 2026; Gamma Financials, based in Zug, is licensed as a manager of collective assets.

That means just over half of all personnel changes in the first three quarters of this year went to four institutions. The rest were spread across 14 companies. Ten of the 30 changes, or one-third, went to Align and Orion Capital, both of which were only entered in the commercial register in January 2026. Over the quarters, the number of changes increased: based on entry date, there were eight in the first quarter, ten in the second and twelve in the third.
