The number of job advertisements at major Swiss banks increased by 4 percent in the final month compared with September. This is reported by the "AWP" news agency, citing an analysis of advertised vacancies at the largest banks by the Indeed job portal.

According to the report, the ten largest banks had a total of 565 job advertisements on their websites in the last week of October 2026. Only positions with a place of work in Switzerland were taken into account.

In recent years, the number has fallen sharply, not least because of the integration of Credit Suisse into UBS. In May, the number of open positions had temporarily dropped to a low of 482.

Accordingly, the number of open positions at UBS rose by 20 percent in October to 74. However, year over year, that still represents a decline of 22 percent for the major bank.

Raiffeisen banks (169 open positions), Zürcher Kantonalbank (65), PostFinance (28), as well as the private banks Lombard Odier (50) and Pictet (28), all expanded their hiring efforts compared with both the previous month and the same month last year.

There are fewer job postings at Vontobel and Migros Bank.
