On his 26th birthday, Leon Löwentraut – whose name not only embodies the strength of a lion from birth but also his actual name – grants finews.art insights into his work and dreams that inspire his art.

Leon Löwentraut, you began engaging with art at a young age and are now affiliated with renowned galleries. How has this journey unfolded?

My journey indeed began very early, as a small child painting with my mother. By the age of 15, I was certain that I wanted to become an artist. Numerous exhibitions and inspiration from fellow artists spurred me on.

Collaboration with renowned galleries worldwide, including Galerie WOS in Zurich, and the recognition of my art have been pivotal for my path.

My team, especially my father who supports me as a Sales Manager, and Jörg Schwarz, my PR and media advisor, have been instrumental in pursuing my vision while capitalizing on the financial value of my work.

How do you perceive the role of art as an investment in today's world?

Art as an investment is gaining increasing significance. In a world where traditional investment forms are becoming more unpredictable, art offers a unique combination of emotional value and long-term capital value.

Galleries and collectors are reflecting this trend, and I am honored that my art is considered a rewarding investment. However, the primary focus should always be on the emotional resonance of my works with people.

What would you say is the key to your success?

For me, the essence of my success is the authenticity with which I approach my art. I adhere to my conviction and allow my creativity to flow freely, unencumbered by established norms. Breaking rules and forging my path have always fascinated me.

This mindset has allowed me to continuously evolve myself and my art. It is this inclination to think and act differently, guided by intuition, that reassures me I am on the right track.

I believe this mindset is vital not just in art, but in any field that thrives on creativity and innovation:

What role do dreams and visions play in the art world?

Dreams and visions are the lifeblood of all artistic endeavors. They are essential not only for creating impactful works but also for crafting a career that is both personally fulfilling and artistically impactful.

In a world where art is increasingly viewed as an investment, it's often the bold visions and the capability to realize them that set an artist apart. Ultimately, however, it all comes back to the art itself – my paintings must stand on their merit.

How do you envision your future?

I see a future where my art not only touches but also inspires people globally. I aim to have my work represented in the most prestigious museums and collections, and I hope that my creations will be recognized as significant contributions to the canon of contemporary art.

My greatest ambition is to leave an enduring legacy through my art, bridging the divide between artistic expression and financial acumen.

At 26, you have already attained remarkable success. How do you plan to continue making your art accessible to a wider audience?

My team and I are diligently working to broaden my footprint in the art world, which includes staging international exhibitions. Starting from April 25, 2024, my works will be on display in Paris and later in the summer in Palma de Mallorca. My aspiration is to be counted among the most esteemed artists.

This requires not only talent but also incredible perseverance and discipline. I am confident that I have the necessary strength and energy to realize this dream.

In addition to the presence of my art in museums, galleries, and fairs, I want to spread my art in public spaces as well as through social media and other available channels worldwide. I want my paintings to be known to nearly every person on this planet.

If you could have one wish today, what would it be?

Right now, it would be to see a significant, unique piece of my art featured at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
