Edmond de Rothschild’s asset management wants to expand its business in South America and has eyed up a partner to pursue its plans.

Edmond de Rothschild has signed a cooperation agreement with Banchile Administradora de Fondos (Banchile AGF). The asset manager is based in Santiago de Chile, the capital of Chile.

Under the agreement, Edmond de Rothschild will be able to sell its asset management products to Banchile clients, the bank said in a statement.

Unchartered Territory

Banchile AGF will get access to know-how and expertise about European and U.S. securities, corporate bonds and asset allocation.

Chile is a market where few Swiss financial service companies are active in. Union Bancaire Privée a year ago agreed to a cooperation in asset management in the country, with LarrainVial.
