Lombard Odier is planning to move into a new headquarter in four years’ time. The building in Geneva was designed by a Swiss star architect and is anything but a dull office bloc. Here are a few pictures.

Lombard Odier, the Geneva-based private bank, last week reported that it had selected a project by Herzog & de Meuron for its new headquarters. The bank plans to move 2,600 employees to the building.

Today the bank unveiled the project design by the star architects. «The building will be airy and will look amazing from the ground, lake and sky,» said Patrick Odier, senior managing partner at Lombard Odier.

Easy Access

The new headquarters in the Bellevue district will be built on a plot of land measuring 27,400 square meters, with easy access by public transport and car (picture below).

All teams of bankers will fit under one roof – hence the project name «One Roof».

A Contemporary Bank

The building will be made of steel and glass: «A stone-clad bunker would no longer be in keeping with the image of a contemporary bank,» said Pierre de Meuron. «We have designed a transparent, elegant and measured building.»

The construction will begin in early 2019 and are slated for conclusion at the end of 2021. The bank didn’t say how much it plans to spend on the new headquarters.
