New chief investment officer Michael Strobaek’s team at Lombard Odier has attracted another finance professional, finews.ch has learned, who also joins the Geneva-based private bank from the former Credit Suisse.

Daniel Rupli is the new head of investment advisory for Lombard Odier’s private banking division, according to an internal memo made available to finews.ch. Rupli will take up his position on March 1 and will be responsible for the full spectrum of investment advisory services at the traditional Geneva-based firm.

He reports to Marc Giesbrecht, deputy chief investment officer (CIO) under CIO Michael Strobaek.

Also Part of the Former CS Think Tank

With the addition of Rupli, «Team Strobaek» is bringing further big banking expertise on board – the new CIO worked for UBS and Credit Suisse (CS) for many years. Most recently, Rupli worked at CS as head of single security research (buyside), in both equity and credit. He was also a member of the management team of the CS Research Institute, the internal think tank of the former bank.

Prior to CS, the finance professional worked for UBS for over 14 years. At Lombard Odier, he rejoins colleagues from his research days at CS, such as Nannette Hechler-Fayd’herbe, CIO for private banking in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
