Schroder Investment Management is bolstering its Swiss sales team. The U.K. fund company appointed a new head of the institutional clients’ business.

Andrea Barmettler takes over as head of the institutional business with immediate effect, according to a statement by Schroder Investment Management. She will be responsible for the sales strategy in Switzerland and the existing business.

Barmettler will also receive an additional member of staff to reinforce the institutional sales team in February 2018. Barmettler has been at Schroder Investment Management since 2008, working in the distribution team. Previously, she worked in the equity research sales team at UBS and at Bear Stearns in London.

Realignment of Sales Strategy

Schroders said it was strengthening the sales team as it was expanding the private assets business. The U.K.-based company in April bought Adveq, a private equity boutique in Zurich. Schroders also has a team focusing on investments in insurance linked securities in Zurich, managing 3 billion Swiss francs in assets.

The realignment of the sales strategy comes as a consequence of the changes in the product mix at Schroders.
