A co-founder of derivatives boutique Leonteq is taking the helm at Evolute, the result of a merger between regtech and fintech last year.

Michael Hartweg took over as Chairman of Evolute this month, the Zurich-based fintech said on Thursday. Hartweg co-founded Evolute two years ago after leaving Leonteq in 2015, which he also co-founded with Jan SchochLukas Ruflin and Sandro Dorigo in 2007.

He takes over from Peter Blum, who remains on the board Evolute, a result of the merger between regulatory provider SwissComply and the fintech firm last year.

The firm aims to crack the «wealthtech» market with specialized knowledge through its regulatory and compliance arm for wealth managers, family offices, and banks. Evolute's solutions offer a hybrid technology for customized portfolio improvements.

The merged firm voiced optimism for its development, and said it plans to enlarge its three-person board in the mid-term, due to its rapid growth.
