Swiss private bank EFG International has replaced its risk head with a high-profile industry veteran.

Zurich-based EFG named Raj Singh as its chief risk officer, effective in January, it said in a statement. Singh replaces Thomas Mueller, who was elected to the board of Swiss retailer lender Raiffeisen on Saturday.

Singh carries a far higher profile than Mueller: the executive was chief risk overseer at Swiss Re during the financial crisis, and at Munich-based rival Allianz prior to that. For the past give years, he was risk head at asset manager Standard Life Aberdeen.

Until Singh can join the Swiss private bank, CFO Dimitris Politis will act as risk head.
