3. Jan Brzezek, Crypto Finance

Jan Brzezek 515
The former UBS trader just celebrated his two-year anniversary of founding Crypto Finance, an intermediary for digital assets. He is among a host of young crypto millionaires in Switzerland: Swiss magazine «Bilanz» estimated his wealth at upwards of $5 million. As a former banker, Brzezek has the chops to get traditional finance on board with crypto. With his firm clinching two key licenses last year, Brzezek’s fortunes are poised to rise.

2. Carsten Stoehr

Carsten Stoehr 516
The Credit Suisse Asia veteran has climbed the ranks at the Swiss bank since returning to the fold three years ago from a stint at Standard Chartered. Stoehr (pronounced «stir») added Hong Kong to his remit in 2017, then last year he was elevated to China boss. Stoehr didn’t lack for cockiness in his salad days on CSFB’s debt origination desk, but can also turn on the charm. Half-German and half-Japanese, he credits the stereotype of both cultures’ as highly organized and disciplined for his work-life balance. The father of three – and avid long-distance runner – has been a vocal proponent of women in business, celebrating International Women’s Day in Sydney this year.

1. Nicolas Duchêne, Reyl

Nicolas Duchene 500
The Frenchman and veteran private banker left Singapore, where he had held down the fort for Banque Reyl since 2012, for Geneva last year. The move coincided with his winning the nod as CEO Francois Reyl’s deputy at the family-controlled bank; besides backing up the 54-year-old Reyl, his role seems to be mainly to ensure the bank is making the most out of clients across its business of corporate finance, financial planning, and private banking. He also advanced to the four-man executive committee this year.
