UBS Switzerland has a new head of capital markets at its investment bank in Switzerland. He follows in the footsteps of Thorsten Pauli who decided to join Bank of America.

UBS has appointed Markus Wetter as head of capital markets at the investment bank in Switzerland. He assumes the position with immediate effect, according to a report by «Reuters», which was confirmed by the bank.

Thorsten Pauli, Wetter’s predecessor on the job, joined U.S. rival Bank of America in July. Capital markets is a lucrative division within investment banking because it entails initial public offerings and share issues.

Pauli had been a key member of the investment bank since Christine Novakovic moved to the top European job at the bank’s flagship wealth arm. Pauli had been behind major deals such as the April stock listing of Stadler Rail.
