UBS Veteran Named CEO of Collateral Agent

Security Agent Services (SAS), founded in 2021 by Philippe A. Naegeli and Patrick Loepfe and based in Zug, announced the appointment on Tuesday.

Chris Bruppacher takes over strategic and operational leadership of the firm. He brings more than three decades of experience in capital markets, institutional financial services, and financial infrastructure.

From 2000 to 2018, he held a series of senior roles at UBS Investment Bank in Zurich and London.

Independence as a Principle

SAS is an independent Swiss collateral and security agent for structured finance products and digital assets.

«SAS was built around a simple principle: trust requires independence,» Bruppacher said. «By remaining separate from lending, custody, and settlement activities, SAS provides an independent layer of trust for issuers and investors alike. I'm excited to build on this foundation and support clients across traditional and digital asset markets.»

The firm operates under a conflict-free Separate Agent model, keeping it clearly distinct from lending, custody, settlement, and other agency roles.

A Bridge to Digital Assets

Bruppacher most recently worked as an independent advisor and serves as Chairman of Copper Markets in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. He has helped build several fintech ventures, was an early entrant in the digital asset space, and is a graduate of the Swiss Finance Institute's Advanced Executive Program.

With the appointment, SAS aims to strengthen its position in structured finance and extend its capabilities into tokenized real-world assets and digital securities.
