Hubertus Kuelps is stepping down as head of communications at UBS after seven years. He will join Geneva-based private bank Pictet.

UBS’ head of communication, Hubertus Kuelps, will join Pictet in a similar capacity in March. Pictet confirmed the move on Thursday. In Geneva, Kuelps will take over from Stephen Barber, who will retire.

Kuelps, a citizen of Germany, spent seven years as head of communications at Switzerland’s No.1 bank. He joined in 2013 from software giant SAP. He previously also worked for Allianz, the insurance company.

Kuelps said that the decision wasn’t taken against UBS but in favor of Pictet. He wanted to take on a new challenge after seven years at UBS.
