Switzerland is the continent's second-largest financial center. How many bankers does the alpine nation contribute to the top-100 in Europe?

Just seven Swiss bankers made it into a widely-watched annual list of the top 100 European women in finance compiled by «Financial News» (behind paywall). The ranking is heavily U.K.-focused: 80 of the women work in the City of London.

Credit Suisse, which has traditionally promoted women in finance more aggressively than UBS, represents well in the ranking: investment bankerLydie Hudson (pictured below), who joined the Swiss bank's top management in February along withAntoinette Poschung, made the list.

Hudson joins Lara Warner (pictured below), the Zurich-based bank's top risk overseer. Warner, a Credit Suisse veteran, is viewed as a potential successor to boss Tidjane Thiam, who is currently grappling with the fallout from a damaging spy scandal.

Credit Suisse's tech chief Laura Barrowman also made the ranking, as did UBS' Sabine Keller-Busse. The operating chief is considered a potential candidate to succeed CEO Sergio Ermotti, alongside Tom Naratil and Iqbal Khan. Keller-Busse bolstered her standing at UBS by adding the European job that Ermotti himself held before he was made CEO eight years ago.
