The U.S. investor Warburg Pincus aims to sell its stake in Avaloq as soon as next year, according to reports in the media. There are two options available to the Zurich-based banking software firm.

Warburg Pincus wants to sell the 45 percent stake in Avaloq next year, according to a report by «Reuters». Avaloq and Warburg Pincus declined to comment the report, the news agency said.

The divestment of the stake would happen either by selling to a rival of Avaloq or by placing the shares on the stock market. Warburg Pincus will soon award a mandate for the handling of the transaction.

The private equity firm bought the Avaloq stake in 2017.
