Which Swiss bankers are preparing for their close-up? finews.com lists who to watch in 2020.

1. The Homecomer

Simone Westerfeld

Simone Westerfeld was offered the CEO job at Basler Cantonal Bank, which she nixed (Basil Heeb later clinched it). Westerfeld popped up at UBS as the deputy to Andy Kollegger head of the UBS division's products and services.

This year, she took on the Swiss giant's private client business domestically from Roger von Mentlen, a veteran and heavyweight. Westerfeld, whose first six-year stint at UBS was in credit, is touted for more as the wealth manager looks to rejuvenate and diversify its top ranks.
