J. Safra Sarasin has added an expert in external asset management and family offices to its team in Singapore.

Yann Mocellin on April 1 started at Bank J. Safra Sarasin in Singapore in the capacity of executive director, reported «Citywire Asia». With the appointment, the Brazilian-Swiss bank bolstered the team for external asset managers.

Mocellin joined the bank from My Advisors, a Swiss company. He previously had worked as an independent family office adviser and managing partner at Mindful Wealth. He also spent four years at DBS Bank in Singapore as a senior vice president and head of external asset management and has held roles at Societe Generale, Swiss-Asia Financial Services, and Credit Suisse.

Appointing New Managers in Asia

J. Safra Sarasin recently announced several appointments in the growth region of Asia, among them Andy Chai as CEO Asia, who joined in February from BNP Wealth Management. The bank also promoted Vinay Gandhi as deputy CEO Asia, following in the footsteps of Yelandur N. Nagendra.

J. Safra Sarasin at the end of 2019 had 185.8 billion Swiss francs ($191.4 billion) in assets under management, 13 percent up from a year earlier. Of this total, 20.1 billion francs are being managed by the Asia bankers.
