Swiss Re, the world’s second-largest reinsurer, has hired a distribution expert for the loss-making corporate solutions business. She will mainly work with commercial insurance brokers.

Claudine Delavy is new head of distribution management in Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, according to a statement on Tuesday. Delavy joins from Marsh Risk Analytics and will relocate from London to Zurich to take up her new position on May 1, Swiss Re said.

Delavy will be responsible for advancing the company’s distribution strategy, representing all Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ products and solutions to commercial insurance brokers, and maintaining strong relationships with key partners.

Return to Previous Employer

Swiss Re expects to advance its distribution strategy and maximize synergies with regional and national brokers. At her previous employer, Delavy was head of risk analytics sales. She also has a past with Swiss Re, where she worked as senior structurer for reinsurance solutions. Delavy is a chartered financial analyst and has an MBA from University of Zurich.

Corporate solutions returned a loss of $647 million in 2019. The business will remain part of Swiss Re and is implementing management actions to reposition its business. Andreas Berger, the head of unit, expects to sort out the problems by the year 2021, it was announced at the annual investors’ day held in November.
