Swiss insurer Baloise is expanding the home ecosystem with an investment in a platform for cleaning personnel. It is the fourth investment of Baloise in a digital service provider in connection with homes and properties.

Baloise, a Swiss insurance firm based in Basel, is developing its ecosystems step-by-step. The latest addition to the home and property system is a platform for cleaning services.

The company has acquired a minority stake in Batmaid, a digital platform founded in 2015, according to a statement by Baloise on Friday. Batmaid, which has its headquarters in the canton of Vaud, employs 70 people and has 2,000 cleaners under contract.

Win-Win-Situation in Cleaning Business

The main advantage of booking a cleaner via the Batmaid platform is that the client gets staff that are insured and pay their taxes, while the cleaners are doing work that provides them with the safety net of the social insurance system and with guaranteed insurance coverage.

Baloise didn’t say how much it paid for the stake in Batmaid. It is its fourth investment in connection with the ecosystem home.
