Belvoir Capital is lifting a Swiss lawyer and ex-Julius Baer compliance overseer into its top management.

The Swiss multi-family office is promoting Patricia Kopp to risk and compliance chief as well as a member of its top management, effective immediately, it said in a statement on Thursday. In the risk role, she replaces co-founder René Stoll, who will devote more time to Belvoir's overall strategy.

Kopp, a Swiss lawyer, joined Belvoir in January as part of the succession planning process. She is the first woman in top management, led by CEO Steffen Bauke.

Julius Baer Clean-Up

At Julius Baer, Kopp was head of compliance in emerging markets at Julius Baer for two years previously. The Swiss bank is working its way out of several scandals via a nearly $100 million clean-up dubbed Atlas.

Julius Baer is still on the hook with its home regulator over its dealings in South America, after a hefty sanction earlier this year. She was previously with Infidar, a Swiss family office which in 2013 merged with WMPartners, an independent asset manager operated by Julius Baer.
